This is an information meeting for parents, teachers, and youth NEW to KidWind to learn about KidWind.org. Youth on last year's teams who indicated a wish to return to their teams were pre-registered so their parents do not need to attend this meeting.

Since 2018, Makersmiths members have coached youth who create wind turbine and solar challenge projects that they enter in the middle and high school KidWind challenges.

What is Kidwind? It is a hands-on STEM initiative that engages youth in grades 4-12 in maker experiences as they learn about wind and solar energy. Participant teams design and build small-scale wind turbines and solar structures. They can enter online or in-person challenges to compete at the state and national levels to measure power output and present their projects to expert judges from universities and energy industries. It is student-driven, maker-oriented, collaborative and fun!

Please register so we can keep track of those interested in learning about KidWind! We will meet in the downstairs classroom at Makersmiths Leesburg.
