MS-L Sublimation & Laser - Make a Cell Phone Stand

Learn to make a Sublimation Cell Phone Stand using a CO2 laser cutter to cut out your blank. Sublimation Hardboard is a blank material that can be laser cut into just about any shape; the possibilities are nearly endless.

In this class we will walk you through how to laser cut the shapes; we won’t actively be using the laser cutter itself in this class.  We will also discuss the benefits and limitations of using Sublimation Printing vs UV Printing or other methods.

The blanks for this class will be pre-cut and sublimation printing designs will be provided. Design files for cutting and printing will be sent after the class for use on your own projects. 

Skills you will learn in this class:

• What Sublimation Hardboard is

• How to cut Sublimation Hardboard on the laser cutter

• Why you would use sublimation printing instead of UV printing or vice versa

• Printing on the blank cell phone stand using the sublimation printer
  

Prerequisites: None. You will need to take the red tool class for the Thunder laser cutters to make more blanks; this class won’t actively be using the laser cutter itself.  The Sublimation red tool training is useful to get some of the common questions answered before this make & take class, but is not required. 

This class will meet in the Main Room at MS-L and use the Sublimation printer setup and heat press.
