Example Leather Objects Made with a Cricut
Would you like to learn to make something in leather using a Cricut machine? We will work In the lower red brick building's classroom at Makersmiths-Purcellville to learn to make personalized leather objects such as a credit card holder, bookmark, knife sheath, earrings etc. while using a Cricut machine. No prior skills using a cutting machine is required. You will learn to import project SVG files or create your own project SVG file using shapes from the Circuit Design Space software and skills such as how to slice, weld, unite, group and ungroup.
Each student needs to bring their own laptop with Cricut Design Space software that is pre-loaded. Be sure to make a free account and have your username and password handy. If you own a Cricut machine, you may bring that, too. Otherwise, we will have two Cricut machines at this workshop for participants to use.
What if you have a specific jpeg, gif or photo image you want to use? Prior to the workshop, it must be converted to an SVG prior to the workshop. Follow these directions to use the free software program, Cutecutter, to convert the image to SVG format and be sure it is saved to the laptop you will be bringing.
