This class is designed for those new to 3D printing. You'll learn how to use a Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printer that melts and forms spools of plastic filament into 3-dimensional objects. We will review each of the printers we have at Makersmiths, how to prepare a 3D file for printing, and each person will have the opportunity to take home their first 3D printed trinket. Upon completion of this course, you'll be approved to start using the 3D printers on your own.
This class will be held at the Makersmiths location in Leesburg. We will start with a presentation in the Classroom and then move into the 3D printing room for some hands on work with the printers.
Please note - This class does not cover how to design and create your own 3D model. Look for 3D Design Classes for Fusion 360 or TinkerCad.
Please watch the video below prior to class. It covers the basics of 3d printing -
