Considering Beekeeping? Start here at this beekeeping information meeting held in the Green Room at Makersmiths-Purcellville.

Have you thought about keeping bees but don’t know how to get started or what it really entails? This talk is designed to help you understand what is involved and if beekeeping is right for you.

  • In this session will take a high-level look at:
  • What it takes to keep bees in this area,
  • the equipment required,
  • the different of hives you can build or purchase,
  • an overview of the beekeeping year,
  • the joys and challenge,
  • where you can get formal instruction in our area and online, and
  • when you can expect to be swimming in honey!

Spring is the time when beekeepers build up their colonies in anticipation of the honey harvest. If you want to begin keeping bees this year, now is the time to start your education and to prepare your your equipment. This session is equal parts lecture and Q&A. Please register for this event.
