Do you have an idea for a project that uses electronics but don't know where to start? This class is a great first step. After registration, students will be sent links to resources to review prior to class, covering electronic components, tools and simple circuits, as well as safe soldering practices and basic techniques.
On the day of the class, we will tour the electronics lab, demonstrate how the DC power supply, multi-meter, oscilloscope and frequency generator can be used to build and test circuits. Then students can use breadboards and/or Tinkercad to design and test circuits. We’ll practice soldering then build and solder a simple circuit students can take home.
This is a family-friendly workshop. Adults registering for this workshop may bring up to two youth (ages 10-14).
All skill levels welcome.
Electronic components and tools will be provided. Please bring a notebook and a pencil. A laptop, for Tinkercad, is optional.
This workshop will take place in the main room and briefly the electronics lab at MS-L.
