MS-L Woodworking: Cutting Boards

Have you completed a red tool woodworking class at Makersmiths Leesburg or Purcellville and are ready to start a project? In this workshop, build a beautiful wood cutting board while learning the ins-and-outs of the major woodworking machines in the woodshop.

Each person will choose the wood they want, dimension it, decide the style (end grain or long grain), glue it up, clean up, and finish the board. At the end, each person will take home their cutting board as well as a homemade beeswax mineral oil mixture to maintain their board. Topics such as material choice, food-safe finishes, proper clamping, avoiding tear out and material waste, etc. will be covered. All materials including wood, glue, etc. will be provided as part of the class fee.

Please bring the following personal protective equipment - safety glasses, hearing protection. Wear closed toe shoes or boots; and no loose hair, jewelry or clothing.
