KidWind is the ultimate wind and solar energy learning experience for the purpose of having youth explore wind and solar energy through the hands-on, investigative, and exciting KidWind Challenges! The participants in this Makersmiths-sponsored KidWind group are currently in grades 4-7 and will be competing as Middle School teams in either a wind or solar challenge sponsored by the Virginia Western Regional KidWind Challenge that will be held at James Madison University on March 9.
For the 2021-2022 school year, the KidWind participants will meet Saturday mornings beginning Nov. 20 ending March 9 for the KidWind Challenge Day. Generally the teams will meet at the Makersmiths' KidWind coaches' Round Hill home classroom where projects and the testing wind tunnel can be easily stored, but teams will book machinery use at Makersmiths' sites as needed when building projects.
Parents of new team members, please sign the Makersmiths waiver giving us permission to work with your youth in our makerspace: https://waiver.fr/p-NVPOj.
