This online workshop session will provide hands on experience creating an arduino-based water sensor that will send an email if water is detected. The course will begin with an introduction to microprocessors and the Internet of Things. Students will then learn to modify the arduino code (which will be provided) so that the sensor will alert them when water is detected.
No prior knowledge of coding is necessary! An arduino-based processor, sensor, and all necessary wiring will be provided. No soldering skills are needed, as the very simple soldering will be done when class supplies are picked up. Students will need to pick up a lab pack from either MS-L or MS-P prior to the class. The instructor will notify you when the supplies will be available for pickup. What is in the lab pack? Arduino based microprocessor, sensor, wiring, and code will all be provided as part of the lab pack.
